My experience with Maryland Consultancy and an agent named Michel during my 2024 student visa process was profoundly disappointing and severely disrupted my academic and financial plans. I share this to help others make informed decisions when choosing a consultancy. ⚠️

Michel assured me she would personally manage the payment to DBS, citing her handling of multiple student payments. Unfortunately, this led to significant complications that caused considerable distress. 📅

Instead of applying for my visa for the April or September 2024 intake, the process was delayed for eight months without clear explanation and keeping my course fee payment (LKR 5 million) with her. During this time, Michel repeatedly ignored dozens of my calls and messages, offering only unreliable updates like “wait a week” or “wait a month.” These inconsistent assurances left me in prolonged uncertainty, causing immense stress and hindering my ability to prepare for my move to Ireland. 📴

By September 2024, after persistent pressure, Michel finally made the university payment and applied for my visa for the January 2025 intake. However, when I arrived in Ireland and visited the university (DBS), I was deeply concerned to find that only half of the required fees had been paid, despite Michel showing me documentation earlier that confirming full payment. This critical oversight jeopardized my enrollment, as DBS withheld my academic documents until the balance was cleared. After weeks of additional follow-ups, Michel settled the remaining amount, but the delays had already caused significant financial strain, delayed my academic progress, and limited my ability to secure employment in Ireland. 💸

Critical Payment Issues 💳: University fees payment were kept for eight months with her until September and then paid partially but showing documentations for full payments, kindizing my enrollment and financial stability.

Highly Unreliable Communication 📴: Persistent unresponsiveness, with numerous ignored calls and vague updates, eroded trust.

Unprofessional Conduct ⛔: Lack of transparency and accountability in managing client funds and processes was highly concerning.

Michel will likely pour more lies into the conversation (into this review comments) or attempt to divert the topic, as she has done while manipulating her clients in the past. If she or Maryland Consultancy tries to deny my claims, I’m fully prepared to provide evidence including receipts, transfer records, and all communication to substantiate my experience. I’m also willing to cooperate with authorities or individuals seeking verification of my statements✅.

I’m sharing this review to ensure no other future student has to go through the exploitation, frustration, and distress I face. Choose your consultancy wisely, I strongly recommend selecting a consultancy with a proven record of reliability and transparency to ensure a seamless visa process but definitely not this agency❌.
